Here’s Why I’m Running Again” — Alex Otti Opens Up On Re-Election Bid

The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has said his decision to seek re-election is driven by the need to complete ongoing projects under his administration.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

He made this known at his country home in Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South, during a large solidarity rally organised by stakeholders in the area and led by Dannie Ubani, the Labour Party’s House of Assembly candidate in the 2023 elections.

Otti explained that he would not be pursuing another term if his administration had already achieved all its goals, noting that there is still substantial work left to be done.

He added that his bid for a second term is focused on continuing efforts to transform the state and complete key initiatives.

While acknowledging the importance of opposition in a democratic system, the governor criticised some opposition figures in the state, accusing them of engaging in what he described as unproductive and baseless politics.

He downplayed threats from certain opposition groups, stating that they represent only a small fraction of the population and do not pose any significant challenge.

Otti emphasised that meaningful criticism should be constructive—recognising the administration’s achievements while offering suggestions for improvement, rather than denying visible progress.

He also appreciated residents for their continued support and commended the organiser of the rally for mobilising such a strong turnout.

According to him, if his administration had fulfilled its mission, there would be no need to seek re-election, but with major work still ongoing, another term has become necessary to achieve his vision for the state.
