He announced the decision on Wednesday via his official X page, revealing that he had stepped down from the role a day earlier.

During his tenure, Giwa played a role in advancing transportation initiatives under the state government’s THEMES+ agenda, contributing to efforts aimed at improving Lagos’ transport system.

He expressed gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to serve and for the confidence placed in him throughout his time in office.

Giwa explained that his resignation is driven by his political ambition, as he plans to run for a seat in the House of Representatives.

He is seeking to represent Lagos Island Federal Constituency II at the National Assembly.

According to him, the decision came after careful consideration and consultations, as he prepares to transition into a new role focused on lawmaking and representing the interests of his constituents at the federal level.
