In a twist of events on Monday, October 16, the Court of Appeal revoked the election of Senator Ishaku Abbo representing Adamawa Northern Senatorial District. As a result, the court-mandated the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the Certificate of Return previously issued to Senator Abbo and reissue it to Rev. Senator Abbo, who made headlines for a controversial incident in a shop, won the election under the All Progressives Congress (APC) banner during the February 25, 2023, National Assembly polls.
The news drew reactions from various quarters, with Isaac Fayose, the brother to the former governor of Ekiti state, seizing the opportunity to take a jab at Abbo. In his words, “BREAKING: Appeal Court sacks Sen. Abbo Ishaku of APC & declares Amos Yohannah of PDP as the winner of Adamawa Northern Zone Senatorial seat. So sorry our s3x toy Senator 😭😭.”
