HIV Crisis In Nigeria: 160,000 Kids Affected, Christian Council Urges Action

The Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) has expressed concern over the prevalence of HIV among children in Nigeria, revealing that out of an estimated 160,000 children living with HIV, only 45,000 are currently undergoing treatment.

This revelation was made during the close-out ceremony of an HIV intervention program in Abuja, co-implemented with the World Council of Churches (WCC).

The CCN urged the Nigerian government and other stakeholders to intensify efforts to curb the spread of HIV/AIDS among children in the country. They emphasized the need for collective action to address this critical issue, noting that while progress has been made in preventing mother-to-child transmission, more needs to be done to ensure comprehensive care and support for affected children.
