The 10th House of Representatives has established an Ad-hoc Committee tasked with screening the recently appointed Service Chiefs selected by President Bola Tinubu.

The nominated Service Chiefs include Major General C.G Musa as Chief of Defence Staff, Major General T. A. Lagbaja as Chief of Army Staff, Rear Admiral E. A. Ogalla as Chief of Naval Staff, and Air Vice Marshal H.B.

Abubakar as Chief of Air Staff. The House Speaker, Abbas Tajudeen, announced the committee’s formation, highlighting its composition of eight principal officers from both the majority and minority parties.

The screening of the newly appointed Service Chiefs is scheduled for Monday, July 17, 2023. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu issued the directive on June 19, mandating the retirement of the former Service Chiefs and subsequent appointment of their successors.

The President has formally submitted the nominations and a confirmation request to the National Assembly through a letter addressed to Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio and the Speaker.
