Chairman of the committee, Yusuf Gagdi, released a statement in Abuja on Saturday expressing his disappointment over the disregard shown by certain MDAs for the committee’s invitations.
He noted that this disregard not only obstructs the committee’s important investigation but also constitutes contempt of the legislative process.
The committee had extended invitations to the MDAs on multiple occasions and had even publicized the invitations through national newspapers. Gagdi emphasized that these efforts to secure cooperation were deliberately ignored, making it clear that this non-compliance would not be tolerated.
The chairman disclosed that the committee had already scheduled dates between August 24 and 31 for the affected MDAs to appear before it.
In the spirit of transparency and accountability, the committee seeks relevant information regarding recruitment activities within these agencies.
The publicized list of affected ministries clearly indicates the dates on which each MDA is expected to appear before the committee to address the allegations and provide necessary information.
