During her appearance before the committee at the National Assembly Complex on Tuesday, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Water Resources, Didi Walson-Jack, disclosed that boreholes had been drilled in various states, including the Federal Capital Territory.
“In total, 299 new water schemes were implemented during the period, and a total of 188 old and abandoned solar boreholes were rehabilitated. Each state in the federation received N10 million in intervention items,” Walson-Jack explained.
Unsatisfied with the presentation, committee members took turns requesting verification of the project sites to ensure their authenticity and to prevent any confusion with previously drilled boreholes.
