A new report has revealed that Adeniyi Adeyemi, the controversial Director-General of the Presidential Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), is currently in the custody of the police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) in Abuja.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to Daily Trust, Adeyemi was arrested in Osun State by operatives of the IRT led by Chief Superintendent of Police Moses Lohor before being moved to Ibadan, Oyo State, and later flown to Abuja for further investigation.

The report stated that the operation followed a warrant issued by Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

On Thursday, Adeyemi, who has been presented as the Director-General of the PFIPC—an organisation authorities have described as a “fake” Federal Government agency—was reportedly seen boarding a private jet bound for the Federal Capital Territory.

The development comes after President Bola Tinubu directed the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to investigate the controversy surrounding the organisation and submit its findings within 30 days.

Quoting a senior security official who requested anonymity because he was not authorised to speak publicly, Daily Trust reported that Adeyemi is being detained at the Intelligence Response Team headquarters in Guzape, Abuja.

The source disclosed that investigators are questioning him over allegations linked to the alleged unlawful operation of an organisation presented as a Federal Government agency, as well as other matters currently under investigation.

“He was arrested by operatives of the Intelligence Response Team, not by officers from any state command. He is presently at the IRT headquarters where he is being interrogated,” the source said.
