Ifeoma Malo took to Facebook to recount the incident and issue a warning to the public.
She wrote:
“I received persistent morning calls from someone claiming to be a delivery rider sent with a package for me. A few probing questions revealed he was actually a kidnapper.”
She further explained the suspicious interaction:
*”He claimed to be from GIG and addressed me as ‘Aunty Ifeoma.’ He kept asking for directions to my house but couldn’t say who the delivery was for. He claimed to be outside my estate and asked for the access code.
“When I pressed him for the estate’s name, he stammered and gave an incoherent response.
“He insisted he was just a delivery person from GIG and didn’t know the recipient. When asked what city my estate was in, he replied ‘Ikoyi.’
“It was clear he was fishing for my address. I ended the call, and shortly after, he sent an SMS saying I was ‘lucky and wise.’
“I have blocked him and will formally report the incident on Monday.”*
