Speaking during an open conversation with gospel artiste Tim Godfrey, the Ku Lo Sa crooner said he was raised in a Christian home with deep musical influence, which helped shape both his character and career.

Oxlade revealed that his journey into music started in the church choir, where he served as a coordinator across various age groups, from children to youths and the mass choir. He noted that music runs in his family, with his grandmother being a deaconess and gifted singer, his grandfather a multi-instrumentalist, and his mother skilled in singing and dancing, adding that he also has a pastor in the family.

According to the singer, his background continues to guide his values and creative process, stressing that gospel music remains his strongest writing influence. He added that his success is a reflection of divine grace, insisting that achievements such as touring 40 cities with his debut album could only happen through God’s direction and approval.
