The ‘Asiwaju’ crooner made this proclamation shortly after parting ways with Jonzing World records, owned by renowned music executive D’Prince, younger brother of Don Jazzy.
In an Instagram announcement on February 6, 2023, Ruger expressed gratitude to Jonzing World and D’Prince but declared his decision to bet on himself.
Releasing a new freestyle titled ‘Blownboy’ under his personally owned Blown Boy Entertainment, the singer formally rejected godfatherism, proclaiming himself as his own boss.
“In this freestyle video posted on his YouTube page on Friday, he sang, “I disavow every loyalty to some godfather, this year I’m all about me.”
