In a heartfelt Instagram post on Tuesday, Bobrisky opened up about the profound impact of his mother’s death, revealing that he also faced significant financial losses in Nigeria last year. He described her passing as a painful event that reshaped his life and obligations.
Bobrisky’s mother passed away in Mecca on October 28, 2008. Recalling her final words, he revealed that she had urged him to take care of his older brother.
“I remember on October 28, 2008, you called me and said, ‘Bobo Omo mi, in case I don’t make it back to Nigeria, please take care of your brother.’ I asked why I should be the one to take care of him, and you said it was because you believed I was stronger and had a thick skin,” Bobrisky recounted.
Tragically, he lost her the very next day. “Sadly, the next day, I heard you had passed away in Mecca, Saudi. I kept screaming ‘Mummy! Mummy!’ but you were already gone.”
Since her passing, Bobrisky said he has taken on the responsibility of caring for his family, including his 87-year-old grandmother, who is still in good health, as well as supporting his older brother and his family.
“I’m still the one taking care of them till today. Mummy, your baby needs more strength to continue this responsibility,” he wrote.
Reflecting on the challenges of 2024, Bobrisky shared that he suffered major financial setbacks and faced issues with the EFCC over currency matters. He added that he refrains from discussing his struggles online, as many people are eager to see him fail.
“I went through hell in Nigeria in 2024. I lost so much money. I can’t come online to cry because many people would laugh at me—they have been waiting for this moment. Mummy, I need your strength right now.”
Concluding his tribute, Bobrisky expressed that he is facing tough times but prefers to keep most of his struggles off social media. “I can’t say much here on the internet; all I need now is more strength,” he wrote.
