Her clarification follows the circulation of a viral video showing her seconding a motion but unable to provide details when questioned by the Speaker, which sparked criticism from members of the public.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the All Progressives Grand Alliance lawmaker said she was taken by surprise after being prompted by the Speaker to second the motion shortly after arriving and taking her seat in the chamber.

According to her, she had just entered the session and was not yet aware of the motion or the lawmaker who introduced it before she was asked to support it.

She explained that the motion was moved by Muktar Tolani Shagaya and focused on the urgent need to provide Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in government institutions and public places to help prevent avoidable deaths.

Gwacham also expressed appreciation to her constituents for their concern and reassured them of her commitment to effective representation.

She maintained that her priority remains delivering meaningful service to the people of Oyi/Ayamelum and upholding the trust they have placed in her.
