Zamfara State governor, Dauda Lawal, has disclosed that he knows the exact hideouts of notorious bandit leaders wreaking havoc across the state but feels powerless to act since he has no direct control over security agencies.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a viral video, the governor expressed frustration that although he has detailed intelligence on the bandits’ movements, security operations in Zamfara remain stalled because local security chiefs “only take orders from Abuja.”

“I swear to Almighty Allah, I know where every bandit leader is in Zamfara. If he moves, I know. I can even track them on my mobile phone. But we are helpless because we lack the authority to command the security agencies. If I had that power, I assure you, banditry in Zamfara would end within two months. Many times, I weep for my people because I see the threats clearly, yet I cannot order security operatives to act swiftly,” Lawal lamented.

The governor recalled how bandits once invaded Shinkafi Local Government Area but security forces on ground refused to intervene, insisting they could not act without clearance from Abuja.

Despite this limitation, Lawal noted that his administration has continued to support security efforts in the state. Zamfara recently distributed 150 patrol vehicles to the police, army, DSS, and civil defence. Thousands of Community Protection Guards have also been deployed, alongside 2,000 hunters hired from Borno and Yobe, to strengthen the fight against banditry.

“I am doing all these even though I don’t control the security agencies, because it remains my duty to protect the lives and property of Zamfara people,” he added.
