I Made You Governor!” – Senator Marafa Strikes Back At Matawalle In Fiery Exchange
The political tension between Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa and the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has intensified, with Marafa disputing Matawalle’s recent claim that he had supported the Senator during his tenure as Governor of Zamfara State.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Through a statement issued by the Chairman of the Marafa Support Group, Alhaji Surajo Garba Maikatako, Senator Marafa denied receiving any such assistance, asserting instead that he was instrumental in Matawalle’s rise to the governorship.
Maikatako dismissed a statement attributed to Tukur Danfulani, the Zamfara State APC Chairman, which suggested that Matawalle had aided Senator Marafa. He challenged Danfulani’s claim, asking how he could question them on where Matawalle allegedly helped Marafa. “The reality is inverted. It is we who should ask where Matawalle assisted Senator Marafa,” he said.
Highlighting Zamfara State’s political history, Maikatako emphasized that it was Marafa who played a pivotal role in Matawalle’s ascendancy, describing the governor’s success as a result of divine providence and Senator Marafa’s efforts.
He stated, “Senator Marafa created the government under Bello Matawalle. Matawalle himself acknowledged this and once vowed never to betray him—a promise he has now broken.
“Now, Tukur Danfulani suggests that people are jealous of them. That is laughable. How can we envy what we ourselves created? Matawalle became governor through the efforts of our principal, Senator Marafa. We are the source; they are the result. Their attempt to claim our achievement is the ultimate sign of failure.
“Danfulani and his principal, Bello Matawalle, have failed politically, morally, and historically. They have failed to honor a sacred obligation, failed to keep their promises, and now fail even to acknowledge the truth about their origins.
“Senator Marafa remains a fearless proponent of truth, while his former ally faces serious and specific allegations from credible sources that he refuses to contest in court. The people of Zamfara see this clearly.
“We do not envy failures. We stand firmly on the grounds of truth and principle with Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa.”
