The drama unfolded after Ned Nwoko’s Moroccan wife, Laila Charani, took to social media on Wednesday, November 12, to accuse Regina of introducing her to drugs six years ago — a habit she claimed nearly cost her marriage.
Laila made the claim while responding to Regina’s assertion that she had financially assisted her in the past. In a fiery rebuttal, Laila denied ever receiving money from Regina and challenged her to publish their bank statements for Nigerians to judge.
She further alleged that the reason for the tension between Regina and Nwoko was the senator’s insistence that Regina curb her alleged “drug and alcohol addiction,” stressing that Nwoko detests such habits.
Amid the viral exchange, eagle-eyed social media users noticed that Annie Idibia, wife of music star 2Baba, had “liked” Laila’s post — a move that sparked outrage among fans, especially those who recalled Regina’s public support for Annie during her marital crisis.
Responding to the backlash, Annie took to Instagram to clarify that she had liked the post by mistake while reading through the allegations.
She reaffirmed her loyalty to Regina Daniels, stressing that their bond remains strong despite the misunderstanding.
Her post read:
