Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, Tambuwal said he was “shocked” by Tinubu’s style of governance but added he could not claim disappointment since he never supported his candidacy.

According to Tambuwal, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has been interfering in the internal affairs of opposition parties, creating divisions to weaken them. “We are all sensible and when you look at what is happening in various political parties in Nigeria today, you don’t need to be told the level of involvement by Tinubu and the APC in these destabilisation efforts,” he declared.

Tambuwal also addressed reports of a police invitation linked to him, saying he is ready to honour any summons but warned against security agencies being manipulated for political purposes. “If I’m invited by the police, I will appear. But they must be cautious going forward. The interpretation and politicisation of such invitations are an entirely different matter,” he added.
