Yahaya Bello, the Former Kogi State Governor, has found himself embroiled in controversy after being accused of embezzling a staggering 80 billion naira during his tenure as Commander-in-Chief in Kogi State for eight years.

Tensions escalated when officials of the anti-graft agency attempted to apprehend Bello at his opulent mansion in Abuja, only to encounter staunch resistance from the security detail of the incumbent Kogi Governor, Ododo. Eyewitnesses at the scene reported Governor Ododo’s conspicuous presence at GYB’s residence precisely when the EFCC was poised for the arrest, with the sitting Governor deploying police officers under his command to thwart the operation.

Following this dramatic standoff, Yahaya Bello was promptly declared wanted by the EFCC, while simultaneously facing the withdrawal of his security escort by the Inspector General of Police. Furthermore, it has become evident that Yahaya Bello, for unspecified reasons, has lost the backing of the Federal Government, leaving many to ponder the silence of Tinubu in the face of this international embarrassment.

Prominent influencer Tunde Ednut, a native of Kogi, ignited a firestorm of reactions on his Instagram page by questioning, “But i thought Yahaya Bello was really close to Tinubu? Why Tinubu come close mouth for this matter.”
