I Was A Virgin When I Married Soludo” – Anambra First Lady Nonye Fires Back At Ekwunife, Threatens Lawsuit
Nonye Soludo, wife of Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has issued a stern ultimatum to former senator and APC deputy governorship candidate, Uche Ekwunife, demanding a retraction of her allegations of infidelity within 72 hours, alongside a public apology.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a statement released on Saturday, September 14, and cited by The Guardian, Mrs Soludo condemned Ekwunife’s claims as “wilful and malicious,” warning that failure to withdraw them would trigger legal action.
“My lawyers have also been put on notice,” she said. “I will, as a Christian, give Uche a chance to repent and retract her malicious allegations within 72 hours, with an unreserved apology. Otherwise, I will take every step necessary to ensure justice and restitution.”
The feud stems from a viral video in which Ekwunife alleged that Mrs Soludo had an affair with former Anambra governor, Chinwoke Mbadinuju, casting doubts on the paternity of her children. The remark followed Governor Soludo’s criticism of Ekwunife’s academic qualifications.
Dismissing the claims, Mrs Soludo insisted she had never met the late governor and declared:
“In my 55 years on earth, I have known only one man — Chukwuma Soludo. I married him as a virgin, and my fidelity to him through 33 years of marriage is ironclad.”
Going further, she challenged Ekwunife to take an oath of fidelity before the Catholic Church’s Blessed Sacrament and proposed DNA tests for both families to be conducted in three reputable London hospitals — with all costs covered by her.
“I will swear with my children that I have known only my husband. You, on your part, should also swear with your children or your political career that you have never cheated on your husband,” she declared.
She added: “Science has made life easy — there are things you cannot lie about. Let us do the DNA in London. I will pay the expenses. My family is ready.”
The clash comes less than two months before the November 8 Anambra governorship election, where Ekwunife is running as the APC deputy governorship candidate.
