I Was Never Indicted!” – Ex-Bauchi SSG Hits Back At Governor Bala Mohammed Over Fraud Allegations
Former Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, has strongly rejected allegations of fraud leveled against him.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Kashim also denied ever being investigated, tried, or questioned by any government institution, audit panel, or penal inquiry during his tenure as SSG prior to his resignation.
He challenged Governor Bala Mohammed to take him to a competent court of law if there is any evidence of wrongdoing.
Issuing a statement in response to the governor’s claims that his removal from office was due to alleged fraud, Kashim described the allegations as “unfortunate, misleading, and entirely untrue.”
“At no point during my service as Secretary to the State Government was I ever indicted, queried, investigated, or found guilty of any fraudulent activity or financial misconduct. No audit report, law enforcement agency, anti-corruption body, or panel of inquiry has ever established, alleged, or even hinted that I engaged in any improper conduct while in office,” he said.
He added, “Any suggestion otherwise is a deliberate distortion of facts and a regrettable attempt to distract from more substantive issues. My departure from office was not based on any finding of wrongdoing. I served Bauchi State with diligence, transparency, and fidelity to the law, and I remain proud of my record in public service.
“I am fully prepared, at any time, to provide a detailed account of my stewardship as SSG to any competent authority or to the Nigerian public.”
Kashim further expressed concern over the false narratives being circulated to justify ongoing developments, calling them damaging to personal reputations and contrary to the principles of fairness, accountability, and truth.
“In the coming days, I will address the press and the public comprehensively to set the record straight. I will present the facts clearly and verifiably to the court of public opinion. Talk is cheap, facts are sacred,” he concluded.
