Speaking to journalists shortly after the Sergeant-at-Arms unsealed her office, Akpoti-Uduaghan said she would limit her comments for now, as several matters remain unresolved.

“I’ll be careful about what I say today. In the coming weeks, I will have much more to share,” she explained.

The lawmaker expressed concern over reports that a motion might be raised to force her to apologise as a condition for resuming her duties.

“I’m genuinely puzzled about what apology they expect. You cannot apologise for an injustice,” she emphasised.

Akpoti-Uduaghan maintained that her suspension was unjust and vowed not to yield to pressure.

“This demonstrates that sometimes it’s necessary to test institutions. We cannot be intimidated in the face of injustice. No one is more Nigerian than us,” she said.

She also thanked her constituents, family, and colleagues for their support during her suspension, urging Nigerians to remain hopeful despite the nation’s current challenges.
