On Wednesday, Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami struck out the case following the withdrawal of the five-count charge filed by the police. Prosecution counsel, Oluwabunmi Adeitan, cited “new developments” as the reason for discontinuing the matter, tendering a formal application which the court accepted.
The development came after Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), announced that the case would be dropped after consultations with key stakeholders in the aviation industry.
In a post on Instagram, Emmanson confirmed her freedom but said she was still nursing pains from the treatment she received. She thanked friends and supporters for their prayers and assistance, promising to share her side of the story after getting adequate rest and medical care.
“Thank you so much for all the prayers, love, and support. I have been released from prison but I’m still in pain from how I was treated. I just need some rest and medical treatment before giving my own version of events. I appreciate you all from the bottom of my heart. God bless you,” she wrote.
