Prominent public commentator, Reno Omokri, known for his outspokenness on social and political issues, has taken a swipe at Oby Ezekwesili for what he perceives as glaring hypocrisy. Taking to his Instagram handle, Omokri wrote, “Mmesoma Ejikeme forged her JAMB result, and in less than 12 hours, Oby Ezekwesili had already alluded to tribalism and roused a mob against a Yoruba Muslim JAMB Registrar who, allegedly, wanted to sabotage an Igbo girl out of tribal jealousy. Yet, more than 24 hours after unknown gunmen brutalized Abioye Oladeji on camera for his ethnicity, Oby has remained ominously silent.”
Reno went further by questioning Oby’s consistency, positing hypothetical scenarios. “Had this atrocity occurred in the Southwest with the roles reversed, would Ezekwesili maintain this silence?”
He further cited instances where he felt Ezekwesili showcased tribal bias, including allegations of her being silent over killings in her home state, Anambra. He also mentioned the tragic incident of Harira Jubril, a pregnant Northern Muslim woman, and her four underage daughters’ cruel murder in Anambra State. CONTINUE READING
