If The Agency Doesn’t Exist, Why Was I Meeting Its Heads?” Adeniyi Adeyemi Challenges Presidency

His remarks come after the Presidency accused him of forging official documents, including an appointment letter, to falsely present himself as the head of a government agency it described as non-existent.
Speaking on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme, on Thursday, Adeyemi rejected claims that he is a fraudster, insisting that the ongoing controversy should be resolved by the courts.
He maintained that his interactions with top government officials, ambassadors, and other key stakeholders demonstrate that the agency is legitimate.
“I’m not a con artiste. Let the court decide on the matter,” he said.
“Let’s assume the agency does not exist. Would I have the temerity to be going all over the country meeting the heads of agencies and departments if they knew the agency did not exist, or, as alleged, that I fabricated everything?”
Addressing claims that his appointment was merely a political reward, Adeyemi acknowledged that he is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State but dismissed suggestions that his position was the result of political patronage.
“I’m a member of the APC from Oyo State. I wouldn’t say the position is a reward,” he added.
