IGP Egbetokun Approves State-Of-The-Art Upgrade For Police Medical Facilities

In a statement on Wednesday, Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, noted that the decision aligns with the IGP’s vision for far-reaching reforms and his unwavering commitment to the welfare of officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force.
Egbetokun described the upgrade as a landmark step that underscores the Force’s renewed focus on healthcare as a vital pillar of police welfare and operational efficiency.
According to him, the establishment of the Directorate will fully integrate medical services into the organisational framework of the Force, guaranteeing improved competency, stronger coordination, and sustained investment in both preventive and emergency healthcare for serving officers, retirees, and host communities across the country.
The IGP added that the Directorate of Medical Services will be rebranded and strategically structured to address modern policing challenges, with the Force Chief Medical Director overseeing its operations alongside other directors and healthcare professionals.
He stressed that the initiative goes beyond welfare, describing it as a strategic investment in national security. The Nigeria Police Force, he assured, remains committed to implementing comprehensive reforms that will enhance professionalism, boost morale, and strengthen its welfare system for personnel.
