In a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the IGP expressed his condolences to the government and people of Kogi State, particularly the affected families, following the November 29, 2024 disaster. He emphasized the gravity of the situation and vowed to take swift action.

To ensure a comprehensive understanding of the incident, the IGP has tasked the Force Marine officer with leading a detailed investigation into the cause of the accident. The IGP also emphasized that the findings would contribute to improving safety standards and emergency response procedures for water transport across Nigeria.
