Ijebuland Celebrates Awujale’s 90th Birthday With Grand Festivities

The entire Ijebuland was filled with pomp and celebration as its paramount ruler, the Awujale, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, marked his 90th birthday and 64th Coronation Anniversary. The highlight of the festivities was the commissioning of the School of Governance Studies, donated to Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago Iwoye, Ogun State.

The event also featured the launch of a book titled “Reinventing Governance in Nigeria, The Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona Model” and attracted dignitaries from various sectors. Notable attendees included former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Governors Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State and Jackson Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, and past Ogun State governors Olusegun Osoba, Gbenga Daniel, and Ibikunle Amosun.

Posterity will be kind to you for the values you have instilled in the cohesion of the Ijebu people worldwide,” Globacom noted.

The company also highlighted that the monarch’s wisdom, grace, and leadership qualities have been sources of inspiration for both the company and Nigerians at large.
