I’ll Expose Peter Obi’s Corruption In Court!” – Deji Adeyanju Dares Ex-Presidential Candidate After ₦1.5bn Lawsuit

Obi had accused Adeyanju of making false, malicious, and defamatory remarks about him on social media and is seeking an apology, retraction, and ₦1.5 billion in damages.

In the suit filed before the Anambra State High Court in Onitsha, Obi requested that Adeyanju be compelled to delete all offensive posts from his X (Twitter), Facebook, and Instagram accounts, as well as publish public apologies in three national newspapers.

Part of the court documents read:

“An order compelling the Defendant to immediately retract and delete from all his social media platforms… all false and malicious publications describing the Plaintiff with derogatory labels such as ‘leader of a mob,’ ‘religious bigot,’ ‘fraud,’ ‘scum,’ ‘political fraud,’ and ‘political prostitute.’”

Reacting via X on Wednesday, Adeyanju expressed satisfaction that Obi proceeded with the lawsuit, saying he is ready to defend his claims in court.

He wrote:

“Finally, Peter Obi has sued me. I’m actually happy and relieved that he didn’t chicken out. Interestingly, he dragged me all the way to Anambra, even though he mostly stays in Abuja, where I live. But no shaking — we move.
I will prove in court that Peter Obi is corrupt, a bigot, and a fraud. You will all be entertained, I promise.”
