The event, themed “Ending Social and Institutional Maltreatment, Acting Together for a Peaceful, Inclusive Society,” highlighted the government’s commitment to addressing the current economic challenges. Yakubu emphasized that Tinubu’s government is diligently working to improve the situation and called on citizens to support the administration in achieving its goals.
“I want to use this platform to ask Nigerians for patience. The hardships we face are surmountable, but progress will take time,” she said. “Let’s remain calm, show understanding, and support the administration’s renewed hope for a better future.”
In contrast, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed criticized the government’s policies, claiming that many Nigerians are not benefiting from the reforms. As Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, he urged the Tinubu administration to reevaluate its monetary and fiscal strategies, which he believes are failing to address the needs of the populace.
Speaking at the launch of the Nigeria Development Update in Abuja, Mohammed highlighted the ongoing hunger and suffering faced by citizens, calling for a more flexible approach to governance to alleviate the increasing hardships.
