INEC Uploads 92% Of FCT Chairmanship Results, Final Outcome Nears

As of 5:55 a.m. on Sunday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had uploaded 2,602 out of the 2,822 expected polling unit results from Saturday’s chairmanship elections across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Data obtained from INEC’s Result Viewing Portal indicate that 92.2 percent of the total results from the six area councils had been uploaded at the time of review.

Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC)

AMAC recorded the highest number of submissions in absolute terms, with 1,309 of 1,401 polling unit results uploaded, representing 93.43 percent.

Ward-level uploads include:

• Wuse (Ward 04): 170 of 175

• Gwarinpa (Ward 05): 185 of 199

• Garki (Ward 02): 155 of 171

• City Centre (Ward 01): 135 of 151

• Kabusa (Ward 03): 139 of 148

• Karu (Ward 10): 114 of 120

• Nyanya (Ward 11): 105 of 110

• Jiwa (Ward 06): 81 of 90

• Gwagwa (Ward 12): 78 of 82

• Orozo (Ward 09): 59 of 61

• Gui (Ward 07): 56 of 60

• Karshi (Ward 08): 32 of 34

Gwagwalada Area Council

Gwagwalada recorded the highest upload rate among the six councils, with 330 of 338 polling unit results available online — a 97.63 percent completion rate.

Several wards achieved full uploads, including Gwagwalada Centre, Kutunku, Dobi, Zuba, Ikwa, and Ibwa. Other wards such as Paiko, Tungan Maje, Gwakọ, and Staff Quarters were nearing full completion.

Bwari Area Council

In Bwari, 463 of 485 polling unit results had been uploaded, amounting to 95.46 percent.

Multiple wards, including Bwari Central, Shere, Igu, and Ushafa, recorded complete uploads, while Kubwa, Usuma, Byazhin, Kuduru, Dutse Alhaji, and Kawu were close to completion.

Abaji Area Council

Abaji posted 129 uploads out of 135 polling units, representing 95.56 percent.

Several wards recorded full uploads, including Abaji Central, Gawu, Abaji South East, Yaba, and Abaji North East. Other wards such as Nuku, Alu Mamagi, Rimba Ebagí, Gurdi, and Agyana/Pandagi were slightly below full completion.

Kwali Area Council

Kwali had uploaded 164 of 201 expected polling unit results, representing 81.59 percent.

Gumbo, Yangoji, and Kwali Ward recorded full uploads, while other wards such as Pai, Kilankwa, Wako, Dafa, Yebu, Kundù, and Ashara were still pending some results.

Kuje Area Council

Kuje recorded the lowest upload rate, with 207 of 262 polling unit results available on the portal — 79.01 percent.

While wards such as Gwargwada, Yenche, and Rubochi achieved full uploads, others — including Kuje, Chibiri, Gaube, Kwaku, Kujekwa, Gudun Karya, and Kabi — were still awaiting several results.

Overall, most councils had exceeded the 90 percent upload mark by early Sunday. However, Kwali and Kuje were trailing behind, with Kuje posting the slowest rate among the six area councils at the time of assessment.
