“Insecurity Won’t Break Us — Buratai Says Troops Are Defending Nigeria with Honour”

According to former Army Chief Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai (Rtd), the courageous actions and achievements of Nigerian soldiers in the fight against insurgency are making the country proud.‎

Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Yusufu Buratai (Rtd), expressed optimism about the Nigerian military’s capacity to overcome the nation’s security challenges. In a Facebook post, he stated his full confidence that, with continued effort and cooperation among security agencies, Nigeria would soon achieve peace and stability.

Buratai shared his recent visit to his hometown, Buratai, where he interacted with troops on the frontline. He praised the gallant soldiers of the 135 Special Forces Battalion, Forward Operating Base, for their successful defense against a Boko Haram infiltration attempt. He also commended their commanding officer and encouraged them to sustain their momentum.

During his visit, he also met with the Sector Commander of Sector 2, Operation Hadin Kai, and the Commander of the 27 Brigade, applauding their effective leadership. He noted that upon learning of his visit, the Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai reached out, and Buratai extended his appreciation for his operational leadership. He concluded by commending the current Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. O.O. Oluyede, for his strategic direction and commitment to boosting troop morale nationwide.
