As earlier reported, the GAC unanimously adopted Hamzat as its consensus candidate during a meeting held at Lagos House, Marina, on Tuesday. Reacting in a post on his Facebook page, Hamzat said he deeply appreciates the confidence reposed in him by the council and does not take the endorsement for granted. He expressed gratitude to the GAC Chairman, Prince Tajudeen Olusi, and other members of the council for their trust and support, noting that he accepts the responsibility with humility and commitment. According to him, his focus will remain on delivering good and accountable governance to the people of Lagos State. Hamzat described the endorsement as a significant moment in his political journey and reaffirmed his dedication to serving the state effectively.
