Inside The Storm: Explosive Details From Atiku, Obi, Amaechi’s Chaotic Alliance Talks

Fresh details have surfaced regarding the high-level coalition meeting attended by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi, ex-Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, and several other political heavyweights.

The closed-door session, organized by the National Political Consultative Group (North), took place on Sunday at the Abuja Continental Hotel but was disrupted by some delegates from Jigawa State.

According to Punch Newspaper, the agenda centered on pressing national issues such as security, unity, and the urgent need for capable leadership to drive effective governance.

A credible source, speaking anonymously, revealed that the gathering of northern political figures was primarily focused on addressing the escalating problems of poverty, hunger, and insecurity, which they said have intensified under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The source disclosed:

“Both Obi and Amaechi, in their brief addresses, criticized the Tinubu-led government, stating it is worsening poverty levels in the North and exacerbating insecurity. They called on northern leaders to unite and rally behind a viable alternative before the 2027 elections.”

Similarly, Atiku and former Attorney General Abubakar Malami echoed the sentiments, urging stakeholders to back the coalition’s mission to dethrone Tinubu’s administration in the next general election.

During a technical session, delegates from across states reportedly unanimously agreed that the North must throw its weight behind the emerging opposition alliance. As part of the meeting’s resolutions, four committees were set up to examine key issues and prepare a communiqué expected to be released today.
