Egbetokun made this assertion in a statement released through the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Saturday. He described the incident, where six suspects suddenly collapsed in court, as a “deliberate and scripted” act intended to garner media attention.

“Medical assistance was promptly provided to these individuals, reflecting the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to the welfare of those in its custody, regardless of the charges they face,” Egbetokun stated.

He emphasized the police’s dedication to justice while also acknowledging the rights of all individuals, including minors. According to Nigerian law, individuals who have reached the age of criminal responsibility are accountable for their actions, irrespective of their age.
