Mr. Chido Okolo, an investor and diaspora returnee, has called upon the intervention of Barrister Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in response to the alleged disappearance of his land parcel from the survey plan managed by the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).

Okolo is urging the minister to establish a panel of inquiry aimed at addressing the issue of land racketeering within the territory.

Specifically, Okolo’s concern centers around his plot, B06 1523c in Mabushi, which was originally designated for a garden. However, he asserts that it has now been transformed into residential plots and has even vanished entirely from the survey plan.

He alleges that individuals with significant influence within the FCT conspired with land grabbers to unlawfully take possession of his property.

Okolo stated, “I have been subjected to threats as a result of the actions of these individuals. The police, ICPC, Public Complaints Commission, and Human Rights Radio 101.5fm have all made efforts to reclaim my land from the powerful grip of these actors.”

He also claimed that the former Comptroller-General of Immigration, Rose Uzoma, was the original allottee of B06 1523B and also owned B06 1523A, which she acquired from Lamidi Express before transferring ownership to Mr. Patrick Idiaghe. Subsequently, Idiaghe combined his property with theirs, resulting in B06 1523B and B06 1523A.

Okolo has named certain officers in the ICT Department, Development Control, as well as a director who was recently reassigned from Parks and Recreation to Urban Affairs, along with a former surveyor from Parks and Recreation who is currently employed at Survey and Planning within FCDA, as individuals implicated in his ordeal.
