Gombe State Police Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mahid Muazu Abubakar, confirmed the incident. He disclosed that the masked criminals, after encountering resistance from the cleric, brutally stabbed him multiple times with their weapons, leading to his tragic demise.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Oqua Etim, has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding this dreadful event, according to the police spokesperson.

Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed profound shock in response to the incident, noting that this heinous act has shaken the prevailing sense of security and peace within the state.
