It Was Longer Throat’ — Jide Kosoko Finally Breaks Silence On Ritual Allegations Over Late Wife

Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has dismissed long-standing allegations linking him to the death of his late wife, insisting he had no involvement in the tragedy.

Speaking in an interview with FeelRightNews TV, the respected filmmaker addressed the claims that have trailed him over the years, describing them as baseless, hurtful and unsupported by any evidence.

Kosoko questioned why anyone would make such grave accusations without proof, stressing that he never harmed his late wife or engaged in any form of ritual practice.

He also lashed out at those behind the allegations, saying they should be prepared to face similar accusations themselves if they believe such claims are justified.

“I didn’t use my wife for rituals. Those accusing me should use their own wives too. I had nothing to do with my wife’s death. The people making these allegations are unfortunate and have no basis for what they are saying,” he said.

The veteran actor also reflected on his personal life, revealing that marrying another wife was never part of his original plan.

According to him, circumstances influenced his decision, which he jokingly attributed to having a “longer throat”—a Nigerian expression often used to describe excessive desire or temptation.

Despite that, Kosoko praised his current wife, describing her as caring, supportive and a good partner.

“I never intended to marry a second wife. It was longer throat that led me into it, but I must admit she has been a wonderful wife,” he added.

Over the years, Kosoko has been married to several women, including Ganiyat Kosoko, Henrietta Kosoko and Karimat (Kareemat) Kosoko.

His first wife, Ganiyat, was a businesswoman and an officer with the Nigeria Customs Service. Their union produced several children, among them Nollywood actresses Sola Kosoko and Bidemi Kosoko.

His second wife, Henrietta Kosoko, was a popular Nollywood actress and a member of the Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP). She passed away in 2016 at the age of 53.

Kosoko is currently married to Karimat (Kareemat) Kosoko, who remains his surviving spouse following the deaths of some of his former wives.
