It’s Official! Labour Party Unites Behind Peter Obi For 2027 Presidential Race

The Labour Party (LP) has officially endorsed Peter Obi as its presidential candidate for the 2027 elections.

This announcement was made by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Arabambi, in a statement released on Friday in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Arabambi revealed that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Labour Party firmly believes in Peter Obi’s capability to defeat President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming election.

In addition to Obi’s endorsement, the party also threw its support behind Abia State Governor Alex Otti for his re-election bid and confirmed Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour as the LP’s gubernatorial candidate for Lagos State.

Arabambi emphasized that the party remains united under Obi’s leadership, expressing confidence that Nigerians, particularly the youth, will come out in large numbers to vote for him.

“Our primary goal is to remove the APC from power through the ballot box, reflecting the will of the Nigerian people, not through unlawful means,” he stated.

He further reiterated, “Peter Obi will once again fly the flag for the LP in the 2027 presidential election, and we are fully committed to backing Governor Otti’s re-election in Abia, as well as Rhodes-Vivour’s candidacy in Lagos.”

“We are steadfast in our mission to create a better Nigeria under Peter Obi’s leadership,” Arabambi concluded.

Peter Obi was the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, where he finished third behind Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
