During an appearance on the Teju Babyface podcast, the songwriter specifically addressed Burna Boy’s stance on the matter.

He remarked, “Burna is undeniably talented, but when it comes to his attitude, it’s concerning. For Burna to say ‘nobody paved the way for me,’ how could he say that? It’s completely wrong. It’s absurd.”

Jaywon elaborated, suggesting that such a statement implies that Burna Boy hasn’t been influenced or inspired by anyone throughout his life, which he finds unreasonable.

Taking to X and Instagram, Jaywon further emphasized his viewpoint, stating, “It doesn’t diminish your greatness to acknowledge those who paved the way before you… It won’t hinder your success. If you understand, then you understand!”

Jaywon’s comments come in response to recent assertions made by Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck and singer Burna Boy, both claiming that they haven’t benefited from anyone paving the way for their careers.
