The commission’s Chairman, Barrister Salisu Abdu, made the appeal during a visit to the Emirs of Ringim and Kazaure on Thursday. He explained that the commission was established in February by Governor Mallam Umar Namadi with the primary mandate of investigating complaints from citizens about government agencies or private organizations operating in the state.
Abdu outlined the commission’s core functions, which include receiving complaints about administrative injustice or poor service delivery, facilitating resolutions through negotiation and dialogue, making recommendations for corrective actions, and monitoring compliance with these recommendations. He emphasized that all services provided by the commission are free of charge and urged the traditional rulers to help raise awareness about the commission’s role and services.
Since its inception, the commission has received over 200 complaints, with more than 100 already successfully resolved, according to the Chairman.
In response, both the Emir of Ringim, Dr. Abubakar Sayyadi, and the Emir of Kazaure, Najib Hussain, expressed their approval of the commission’s work, recognizing its alignment with the emirates’ mission to promote accountability, transparency, and good governance. They assured the commission of their full support and commitment to its efforts.
The Emirs noted that the commission’s actions are a valuable service to the people and mirror the values the emirates stand for in fostering good governance.
