Jigawa APC Secretariat Arson: Atiku’s Campaign Coordinator Held In Custody

According to Naija News, Danjani and the other suspects have been remanded at the correctional facility in Birnin Kudu Local Government Area.

Police spokesperson Lawan Adam reported that Danjani was apprehended at the APC secretariat during the EndBadGovernance protest in Dutse, the state capital. The charges against the suspects include criminal conspiracy, arson, rioting, disturbance of public peace, theft, and vandalism of billboards.

Commissioner of Police Abdullahi Tijjani, in a press briefing on Saturday, revealed that Danjani was detained on the first day of the protests. He criticized the involvement of “unpatriotic elements” who allegedly used minors to incite violence and damage public property. Tijjani added that the violent protests affected several local government areas, including Hadejia, Birnin Kudu, Gumel, Kazaure, and Babura. So far, 312 suspects have been arrested, with 74 charged in court.
