Joy As Power Returns After One Full Year Without NEPA Light

A Nigerian lady identified as @assiztpro has celebrated the restoration of electricity to her residence after, according to her, spending about a year without public power supply.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the lady shared her experience in a post on X, revealing that the prolonged power outage prevented her household from using a refrigerator or freezer throughout the period.

“A whole year without NEPA light! No fridge, no freezer,” she wrote while celebrating the return of electricity.

She disclosed that power was restored at her residence the previous night, describing the experience as a reminder of how much people can adapt to difficult circumstances.

The lady said she initially would not have believed that she could spend such a long period without using a refrigerator, adding that her household had to adjust to the situation.

“We finally had electricity last night, and honestly, if someone had told me I would survive this long without using a fridge, I wouldn’t have believed them,” she added.

She also revealed that a solar power system helped her household cope with the prolonged outage, although the system was reportedly not powerful enough to operate their refrigerator.

Expressing gratitude, she credited the solar system for helping them through the period and thanked God for the eventual restoration of electricity.

The post has since attracted reactions from social media users, with many Nigerians sharing their own experiences with prolonged power outages and alternative sources of electricity.
