A tragic incident in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, claimed the life of a young mother, Ifeoluwa Adekalu, after being struck by a bullet accidentally discharged by a Nigeria Police Force officer.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The incident occurred on Thursday at the Okela Police Station. The officer, whose identity has not been disclosed, reportedly fired the shot while celebrating a colleague’s promotion, unintentionally hitting the woman.
Conflicting accounts surround the circumstances of her presence at the scene. Some reports state that she was passing by a salon near the station after paying her rent when the stray bullet struck her. Others suggest she was visiting her husband, who was in custody at the station.
Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Ifeoluwa succumbed to injuries sustained from the gunshot wound.
The Ekiti State Police Commissioner, AIG Adewale Adeniran, confirmed the incident, noting that the officer involved has been disarmed, detained, and will face an investigation under the Nigerian Police Act.
