Oshiomhole detailed the campaign led by the implicated governors and Lukman, accusing them of employing various illicit tactics to oust him due to his efforts to establish party supremacy. He criticized Lukman for writing disparaging letters about his leadership without direct communication and highlighted Lukman’s undemocratic appointment by the governors’ forum without proper consultation.

Describing the atmosphere at a meeting with the governors, Oshiomhole compared it to a military barrack and asserted his experience as a two-term governor, stating, “None of you can lecture me about the power of a governor because I have been governor twice, eight years uninterrupted.”

Oshiomhole recounted confronting Fayemi about his electoral loss and alleged that some governors accused him of working for his “paymaster in Lagos” and “Bourdillon.” The former APC National Chairman vehemently defended his actions, asserting his commitment to party supremacy and his refusal to be dictated by external influences.
