Acknowledging the EFCC as a “good child of the Police,” the IGP pledged increased support for the commission, emphasizing the commitment to nurturing this collaborative relationship. He expressed pride in having the EFCC as an affiliated entity, assuring continuous backing from the Police.
In response, Olukoyede praised the police for their instrumental role in fostering the EFCC since its inception. He expressed satisfaction with the existing synergy between the two agencies and appealed for further support, cooperation, and collaboration due to the specialized nature of their respective tasks.
Highlighting the imperative for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the police and the EFCC, Olukoyede addressed concerns about potential overlap in operations. He proposed that an MoU would effectively address issues related to the duplication of efforts in investigating similar cases, ensuring a more streamlined and efficient collaboration between the two entities.
