According to sources, the attack began shortly after midnight, spanning across the Guto, Piyawe, Tudun-Fulani, and Sabon Gari communities within the council. Witnesses reported that more than 30 assailants, split into two factions, infiltrated the area through swamp routes, catching residents off guard.

Tragically, the victims included Madam Alice, a woman in her forties who had come to visit her ailing mother under the care of her brother. She was fatally attacked during the onslaught. Additionally, two individuals were forcefully taken from their homes in Guto, while another person was abducted from Tudun-Fulani, located merely a kilometer from the council’s Secretariat.

Residents, deeply shaken by the incident, expressed frustration over the apparent lack of response from security forces. Despite repeated calls to the Bwari divisional headquarters, help did not arrive promptly, leaving locals feeling vulnerable and abandoned during the hour-long ordeal.

“We’ve enjoyed a period of peace recently, but unfortunately, the attackers returned with unprecedented aggression,” lamented a resident who requested anonymity. “It was clear they were well-armed and prepared. The night echoed with gunfire, suggesting they were equipped with sophisticated weaponry.”

The absence of security reinforcement has sparked renewed concerns about the safety of communities in the area, with residents urging authorities to enhance vigilance and ensure swift responses to future threats.
