In a post published on Saturday, Babafemi clarified that MohBad was not among the Marlian Music artists detained by the NDLEA in 2022, contrary to rampant speculations. He emphasized that given MohBad was never in their custody, it’s implausible that he could have been poisoned there.

Babafemi further provided a link to an article from an online platform (not affiliated with Punch Online) detailing the 2022 arrest by NDLEA of six individuals: Oniyide Azeez (Zinoleesky), Owoeye Michael, Abimbola Ogbe, Dominica Chinwe, Olaolohun Shubomi Mariam, and Ibrahim Alawo.

He stated, “This is an accurate account of the February 2022 arrest and subsequent detention of certain Marlian artists. Babafemi expressed hope that those spreading these false claims would be held accountable. “I trust they’ll stand by their assertions when they face the full force of the law,” he remarked on his tweet.

This rebuttal from Babafemi comes in the wake of a widely-circulated video of the late MohBad. In the distressing footage, an emotional MohBad is seen seemingly in a hospital, asserting that he was harassed and made to ingest a suspicious white substance. He recounts, “They gave me water from a plastic bottle, accusing me of drug use. I was the sole one to drink it, while the others were spared. Honestly, they even struck my head with a gun. In that video, I tried to shield Zino, but he turned on me.”
