Kaduna Allocates N11.4 Billion For Second Round Of Palliatives Distribution

The Kaduna State Government has disclosed its allocation of N11.4 billion towards the distribution of the second phase of palliatives. Governor Uba Sani, in a recent statement, affirmed the government’s commitment to alleviating the plight of the underprivileged within the state. He emphasized the forthcoming implementation of the third phase of the palliative program, marking it as a comprehensive effort.

Governor Sani also revealed that N3.3 billion has already been disbursed for the settlement of pensions, gratuities, and death benefits for families of deceased civil servants. Notably, over 1,300 beneficiaries have commenced receiving payments, alongside civil servants benefiting from a N500 million revolving loan initiative.

The governor expressed satisfaction with the commencement of the second phase’s distribution, consisting of 128 trucks loaded with rice and maize worth N3.4 billion. This initiative targets approximately 200,000 households, encompassing about a million individuals across the state, aimed at easing the burden on the vulnerable populace.

Furthermore, Governor Sani highlighted other intervention strategies underway, allocating N4.2 billion for cash disbursements, grants, fertilizers, and agricultural inputs. The government has initiated the disbursement of grants to 7,500 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), ranging from N100,000 to N500,000, with certain cases receiving up to N1,000,000, in a bid to bolster economic activities at the grassroots level.
