Troops from Operation Whirl Punch have successfully eliminated bandits, including key leaders, who were conducting a meeting near Bula community within Yadi Forest, Giwa LGA of Kaduna State. The operation was conducted following credible intelligence, following recent successes in eliminating bandit leaders along the Kaduna-Katsina border.
According to Samuel Aruwan, the overseeing Commissioner of the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, the strike was based on intelligence indicating that bandits were gathering in Yadi Forest for a dangerous mission. Surveillance confirmed the presence of armed bandits arriving on motorcycles, numbering between seven to ten, at a specified location.
The statement further detailed that upon verification, the location was targeted, resulting in the neutralization of scores of bandits, including Alhaji Kachalla Ragas, who was identified as an associate and childhood friend of the previously eliminated Buharin Yadi.
