Kaduna DisCo Announces Tariff Increase For Band A Customers
The Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (Kaduna DisCo) has announced an increase in tariffs for customers on Band A feeders, effective from July 1st, 2024. According to Abdulazeez Abdullahi, the Head of Corporate Communication, the new tariff for premium customers will be N209.5/kWh, up from N206.80/kWh previously.
In a statement titled ‘Upward Review of Tariff for Band A Feeders’, Abdullahi assured customers that the increase applies to both prepaid and postpaid arrangements. He emphasized Kaduna Electric’s commitment to maintaining 20-24 hours of daily supply as per the Service Based Tariff regime for customers on Band A feeders.
Abdullahi clarified that the tariff rates for Bands B, C, D, and E remain unchanged amidst growing concerns and complaints from various quarters, including manufacturers and public institutions, regarding the affordability of monthly electricity bills.
This adjustment reflects Kaduna DisCo’s efforts to sustain service delivery while adjusting tariffs to meet operational costs in the face of economic challenges.
